Promotional Materials
Parks Canada
Throughout the summer, Wood Buffalo National Park offered a series of guided walks and open-air lectures. They wanted to promote these activities in their Visitor Centre in Fort Smith and throughout the community. I designed signage for double-sided sandwich boards and posters.
I created materials that were easy to understand while browsing, ideal for visitors who may not take the time to read lengthy text. I used images and typography to create a clear hierarchy of information, communicating each activity along with the dates, times, and costs, and creating a schedule that was easy to follow, attractive, and informative. The color palette complemented the mood of the photography while providing ample contrast for legibility.
The sign encouraged park visitors, families, tourists, and locals to participate. At the Visitor Centre, staff were available on-site to register participants and answer questions. I adhered to the Parks Canada branding guidelines; however, it was assumed visitors would understand activities were held in the park due to the sign's placement. I received positive feedback that the design helped increase visitor participation. It was so successful that it was used again the following year.
